About The Position

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Digital Client Relationship team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. You are responsible for designing, building, and operating intelligent agentic systems powered by LLM. Focus on developing robust agent architectures, orchestration frameworks, and multi-agent workflows that can reason, plan, use tools, and operate reliably at enterprise scale. Partner closely with platform, product, and domain teams to enable safe, observable, and extensible AI-driven capabilities across the organization.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python and agent development frameworks
  • Deep understanding of large language models, APIs, and prompt engineering
  • Experience with agent architectures, multi-agent systems, and orchestration
  • Experience building conversational and programmatic interfaces for AI systems
  • Hands-on experience with tool integration, API design, and function calling
  • Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search
  • Experience with agent evaluation, testing, tracing, and auditability in production environments
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and governance for AI-driven systems
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight

Responsibilities

  • Develop agent architectures, planning and reasoning workflows, and orchestration patterns
  • Design, build, and operate LLM-powered AI agents and multi-agent orchestration frameworks
  • Build conversational interfaces and programmatic APIs for interacting with agent orchestrator
  • Implement tool use and function calling to enable agents to interact with enterprise systems
  • Implement tracing, auditing, and observability for agent decisions, tool calls, and outputs
  • Build and manage memory and context systems, including retrieval-augmented generation
  • Create reliable agentic workflows with robust error handling and failure recovery
  • Build evaluation, testing, and feedback frameworks to enable continuous and reinforced learning
  • Integrate with enterprise platforms (LLMSuite, Fusion, etc.), data sources, and services
  • Contribute to architecture, blueprints and best practices of building agentic AI
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
