About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Shipside Operations Specialist (Ship Captain) to join our H-47 Operations team in Ridley Park, PA. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience managing or leading a project
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
  • Experience implementing lean methodologies and productivity improvements
  • Experience working with MS Office Suite, such as Word, Excel and MS Project

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing Execution Systems common image (MESci) experience
  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense Industry and/or the military
  • Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data and generating metrics reports
  • Strong analytic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

  • Supports daily tier meetings and drive timely resolution of known constraints to responsible support organizations
  • Works cross-functionally to resolve issues impacting the production schedule such as engineering issues, part shortages, and staffing constraints
  • Analyzes defect data to determine point of origin and root cause, and develop corrective action plans to prevent defect reoccurrence
  • Develops and execute continuous improvement projects to help achieve cost and schedule targets as well as overall business goals and objectives
  • Develops organizational and technical strategies to support production needs
  • Provides input to Program Management teams on aircraft operations and delivery status as well as major aircraft build milestones and critical restraints
  • Develops and maintain relationships and partnerships with Manufacturing Leadership, Program Management, and support organizations
