The Lead Registration Representative in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Health Network is responsible for coordinating and performing administrative functions associated with daily operations at assigned registration locations. This role acts as a resource for front-line colleagues, providing education and support, while ensuring compliance with registration standards and performance measures. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with clinical leaders to enhance patient access and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Oversees registration performance standards such as work queue productivity and regulatory requirements.
- Acts as a primary resource for registration-related activities and departmental requirements.
- Responsible for orientation, ongoing training, and education within assigned registration areas.
- Develops and implements registration standard work and educates the team on updates and new initiatives.
- Creates and monitors assigned team's schedules daily to ensure adequate coverage.
- Collaborates with clinical leaders to ensure timely patient access and exceptional experiences for patients and colleagues.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in healthcare or related field, or High School Diploma/GED with three years of relevant experience.
- 3 years of experience in healthcare, customer service, or educational environments overseeing work processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and technology applications.
- Ability to multi-task and handle interruptions in a high-stress environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse patients and colleagues.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or related field.
- Ability to understand medical terminology.
