About The Position

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Lead Project Engineer for the Oklahoma City site. The selected candidate will provide the Production Engineering team guidance and input through the evaluation of Key Performance Indicators, Command Media, and alignment through the development of Statement of Work (SoW) and Basis of Estimates (BoE) in support of new business requirements. The Lead Project Engineer will respond to changes in SoW, assess business impacts, and negotiate proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules. He/She will lead project execution to complete the work statement while communicating risks and results and defining plans for risk mitigation and opportunity. The Lead Project Engineer will compare results against baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity while capturing lessons learned, and provide technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans. Works under minimal direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience supporting cross-functional Engineering portfolios
  • 3 or more years of leading technical projects
  • Experience with providing technical solutions to complex problems through innovation and creativity
  • Proficient communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim/Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison with the Production Engineering team between the Program, other Engineering Capabilities, Operations, and program Integrated Product Teams (IPT) translating program goals into actionable project plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities within Program and Engineering Leadership to ensure execution to plan in areas such as Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP), Flight Test Mission Assurance Readiness Review (FTMARR), Internal Work Transfer (IWT), and Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Develop, maintain, and track project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely delivery of program milestones.
  • Identifies and maintains day-to-day oversight of cost, schedule, and performance metrics and reporting to leadership
  • Monitor project risks and issues, proactively identifying mitigation strategies and escalating as necessary.
  • Prepare and communicate regular status reports, briefings, and documentation to program leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support configuration management, change control processes, and compliance with Program requirements.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across technical and management teams to align project objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of program documentation, including plans, proposals, and technical reports.
  • Maintains working-level customer and partner relationships
  • Coordinate plans for updates to PE command media, training plans, and innovative improvements.
