Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic and operational direction of the North American seed business, including full P&L accountability, supplier partnerships, branding, product development, sales, and team leadership.
  • Own the North American overall Seed P&L in collaboration with Breeding and Supply Chain functions.
  • Develop, align, and execute comprehensive seed strategies by crop (Corn, Soybean, Cotton, Canola), with direct ownership of corn and soybean strategy.
  • Direct responsibility for sales (in partnership with Regional Seed Managers), marketing, product management, and strategic supplier management.
  • Lead the Seeds Operating Unit, partnering across the Foundation Program, Digital, Commercial, Breeding, Production & Supply, Finance, and Proprietary Products.
  • Own North American strategic seed supplier relationships, improve margin and working capital, and ensure excellence in rebate management through effective collaboration and negotiation.
  • Directly manage corn and soybean supplier partnerships to optimize margin, rebates, and working capital.
  • Drive alignment within North America Field regions to ensure insight sharing and executional excellence.
  • Full ownership of the Dyna-Gro and Proven seed brands, including brand strategy, positioning, and health.
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to build awareness and value for Nutrien Ag Solutions, Dyna-Gro, and Proven Seed.
  • Oversee the 5Ps (Product, Pricing, Placement, Promotion, People Development), ensuring crop and product planning / management, and brand consistency and commercial success.
  • Lead North American breeding efforts across canola, cotton, rice, wheat, and new proprietary crops.
  • Drive genetic gain through innovation and efficient resource management within the breeding programs.
  • Champion the continued adoption and use of advanced molecular breeding and screening technologies, and foster collaboration on emerging technologies.
  • Ensure programs remain at the forefront of scientific innovation.
  • Lead Seeds Marketing, Agronomy, and Selling Excellence (MASE) initiatives with cross-functional partners (Field Regions, Suppliers, Digital, Breeding, Supply Chain, HR, etc.).
  • Develop integrated sales and production plans aligned with budget goals and market share growth targets for all strategic brands.
  • Ensure strong collaboration and execution with Region Seed Managers to achieve region and division goals.
  • Serve as the senior-most leader for the North American seed business, fostering a high-performance, safety-focused culture.
  • Set clear direction and build a best-in-class seed organization across regions and functions.
  • Develop and implement annual business plans to drive profitable growth across crops and divisions.
  • Build and execute people development plans for direct reports, in alignment with Regional and Divisional Seed Managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Minimum 15 years progressive experience in seed business leadership, including P&L ownership, retail/distribution, supplier negotiations, and people management.
  • Strong background in global seed marketing and product management preferred.
  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
