About The Position

The Lead will oversee the project team responsible for supporting data migration during the transition from NextGen to the EPIC EMR system. This role includes leadership responsibilities as well as hands-on data work. Leadership Responsibilities Supervise a team of four Indexers, including coaching, performance and attendance management, reporting, and overall project oversight. Serve as the escalation point for team questions, issues, and workflow barriers. Primary Focus: EHR Patient Data Migration Receive raw patient data files containing historical EHR information and enter that data into EPIC, starting with April appointments and moving forward. Expected to index at least 20 records per hour. Priority workload includes April–July appointments, totaling about 6,700 scheduled patients, each with an average of 8–10 medical records. All patient data must be transferred into EPIC before their scheduled appointment. Secondary Focus: Order Transcription Review orders for specialty procedures within the NextGen data and accurately place them in the appropriate sections of EPIC. Follow a highly specific EPIC formatting structure to ensure orders pull correctly in the new system. Requires strong attention to detail and a basic understanding of complete orders to identify which information should be extracted and entered. Training The first two days consist of EPIC training to obtain certification and system access.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Lead in a medical records setting, working full time in EPIC
  • Experience managing at least four direct reports, including coaching and workload oversight
  • Proven ability to work fully remote with strong attendance and performance (validated through recent professional reference)
