About the position

Infosys is seeking a Lead Java Developer whose primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and coordinate day-to-day deliverables for the team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the technical design of large business systems, building applications, and creating interfaces between applications. A strong understanding of data security, retention, and recovery is essential for this role. The Lead Java Developer should be capable of conducting independent research on technologies to recommend appropriate solutions and contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards. This includes contributing to success criteria from design through deployment, focusing on aspects such as reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability, and scalability. In addition to technical responsibilities, the role holder will provide expertise on significant application components, programming languages, databases, and operating systems. They will also guide and mentor the team during the build and test phases, ensuring that all deliverables meet the required standards. Candidates must be located within commuting distance of New York, NY, or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations, and candidates authorized to work for any employer in the United States or Canada without employer-based visa sponsorship are welcome to apply. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and coordinate day-to-day deliverables for the team.
  • Assist in the technical design of large business systems.
  • Build applications and create interfaces between applications.
  • Understand data security, retention, and recovery.
  • Research technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards.
  • Contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, focusing on reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Provide expertise on significant application components, programming languages, databases, and operating systems.
  • Guide and mentor the team during the build and test phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Experience in Core Java, Spring Boot, and Webservices.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Java/J2EE technologies and frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the software development life cycle.
  • At least 4 years of experience in project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects.
  • Experience and good knowledge of Webservices, REST services, JSP, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with any enterprise web server, preferably Websphere or JBoss.
  • Willingness to work in application/production support.
  • Experience in the banking domain.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team in a diverse/multiple stakeholder environment.
  • Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment.
