About the position

At UKG, security is at the core of everything we do. In the continuous pursuit of improving our application and infrastructure security, we are looking for a skilled Security Automation Engineer with a deep understanding of cloud security frameworks and Infrastructure as code. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automated security solutions which will increase our efficiency in improving the organization's security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automated security solutions to help accelerate the delivery of security controls such as Network Security policy as code, Endpoint Security Policy as code, and Logging as a Service (LaaS)
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools for automating security configurations and policies and compliance checks using technologies such as Python, APIs and Ansible
  • Utilize technologies such as Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning and management of security-related infrastructure
  • Provide training and support to team members on security automation tools and best practices
  • Develop monitoring and auditing tools to ensure automated processes meet compliance and security standards
  • Contribute to internal knowledge bases and conduct workshops or training sessions to upskill team members in automation technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce human error
  • Incorporate AI principles into the automation delivery strategy
  • Ensure security automation solutions are designed for scalability, reliability, and minimal performance impact
  • Continuously review and refine automation strategies based on emerging technologies and evolving threat landscapes.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of combined experience as a Software Engineer, Security Engineer or a Cloud Security Engineer
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience working with technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, RegEx, Che
  • 3-5 years of experience with API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssure
  • 3-5 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines tools such as Jenkins and GitHub
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles, cloud-native security tools (e.g., AWS IAM, Security Hub, Azure Sentinel, GCP Security Center)
  • Professional experience working on Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and virtualization technologies, such as Kubernetes, Docker and OpenStack
  • Comfortable working with at least one scripting Languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, batch scripts
  • Experience managing and provisioning infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience in designing and consuming secure RESTful APIs
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native security tools like Prisma Cloud, GuardDuty, and CloudArmor
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Information Systems, Information Security, or related fields; preferred but not required.
