About The Position

South Port Square, a 40-acre campus in Port Charlotte, is seeking a hospitality-driven professional to join their growing team as a Lead Housekeeper. This role involves supervising and training assigned employees in Environmental Services, coordinating work assignments for maximum productivity and quality, and answering house calls. The Lead Housekeeper will also conduct monthly inspections, perform general housekeeping duties in apartments, hallways, and common areas, and assist in developing and maintaining housekeeping policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure the organization is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable manner, and will evaluate the effectiveness of supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
  • Weekend Availability Required
  • Background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous housekeeping experience is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train assigned employees in Environmental Services.
  • Coordinate work assignments to assure maximum productivity and quality.
  • Answer all house calls and assign work to staff.
  • Conduct inspections on a monthly basis and correct problems if noted.
  • Work as an aide or floor tech when necessary.
  • Plan, organize and direct the Housekeeping Department programs and activities to ensure that the organization is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary and comfortable manner.
  • Coordinate Housekeeping Services with other facility departments and agencies.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining written housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that department personnel follow department policies and utilize equipment and supplies effectively.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of supplies and equipment used.
  • Make recommendations to the Administrator as necessary concerning the operation of the Housekeeping Department.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in apartments, such as: vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting of all cleared flat surfaces.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties of hallways and common areas as directed by supervisor.
  • Accomplish all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
