About The Position

We are currently open for dinner service seven days a week and are seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Lead Host / Maître d' to oversee our front door operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Lead Host / Maître d' plays a critical role in setting the tone for service. This position requires a polished, professional presence, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage reservations, waitlists, guest relations, and dining room flow during high-volume service periods. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships with guests, and understands how to balance hospitality with operational efficiency. Saturday and Sunday availability is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full-service restaurant, preferably in a Lead Host, Maître d', or front-of-house leadership role.
  • Experience with reservation management platforms such as OpenTable, Resy, Tock, or similar systems.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills.
  • Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to coach and motivate team members.
  • Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments to optimize dining room flow and guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee the host stand and serve as the lead for all front door operations.
  • Coordinate closely with managers, servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
  • Maintain awareness of dining room capacity, pacing, and seating rotation.
  • Handle guest requests, concerns, and special accommodations with confidence and professionalism.
  • Train, mentor, and support host team members while maintaining service standards.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist guests with reservations, inquiries, and special requests.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of menus, daily features, wine offerings, and restaurant events.
  • Manage takeout orders and guest communications as needed.
  • Build relationships with regular guests and recognize VIPs to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain a polished, organized, and welcoming entrance, host stand, and waiting area.
  • Assist management with reservation strategies, large party coordination, and special events.
  • Provide leadership during busy service periods while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Support other front-of-house team members as needed to ensure overall service excellence.
