As a Lead Engineer in Thermal Management Fluid Systems for the Hybrid Electric team, you will play a critical role in developing advanced propulsion system components. This role involves leadership in developing advanced technologies, executing business priorities, and engaging across GE globally and with industrial and academic partners. You will contribute directly to GE Aviation's hybrid electric capability, including the joint NASA Electric Powertrain Flight Demonstrator program and GE's RISE (Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines) program.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical focal for thermal management systems for fuselage power electronics cooling and nacelle cooling systems for gearboxes and motors/generators.
  • Manage integration of Thermal Management Systems for the program and serve as the primary point of contact across businesses and functions.
  • Support EVM activities related to Thermal Management Systems for the EPFD contract.
  • Lead Thermal Management Systems requirements and ensure they are appropriate and met.
  • Conduct conceptual or theoretical activities related to engineering principles, physics, and materials science for design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of thermal management systems and use technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • Propose solutions and solve problems using prior experience and technical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering environment or field.
  • Experience in Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in thermal management architecture and/or component development.
  • Experience in fluid system or component design such as pumps, heat exchangers, valves, or gearboxes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
