This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids or Clearwater, FL and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for architecting moderately complex avionic computer hardware systems that include both digital and analog components.
  • Perform the design, simulation and verification of a circuit card assemblies (CCA) and manage the requirements with the applicable tool.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation for product development and certifications.
  • Testing and integration of the circuit card assemblies installed in chassis.
  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the business.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework.
  • Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills.
  • Explains technical information to others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electric Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of board level digital design process from schematic capture, implementation, integration, and verification.
  • Strong professional technical writing and technical communication proficiency.
  • Ability to break down complex problems and apply critical thinking.
  • Familiarity with the Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise and Hyperlinx PI/SI.
  • Familiarity with OrCAD PSPICE or LT Spice, Mathcad, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio.
