About the position

The Lead Engineer, Electrical Physical Design at Westinghouse Electric Company is responsible for leading a team focused on the design and implementation of physical electrical systems. This role involves overseeing electrical raceway and cable management, ensuring electrical independence and separation, and applying 3D modeling and digital design processes. The position also emphasizes mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers while engaging with external customers and senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and direction to a distributed team of engineers and designers.
  • Support department leadership with offer development and project execution.
  • Support the execution of training and development plans.
  • Mentor the team to aid in their technical development, project performance, and work satisfaction.
  • Engage with external customers, partners, and WEC senior management as required.
  • Support prioritization of engineering tasks by assessing project objectives, execution time, and implementation costs.
  • Ensure best practices, lessons learned, and improvements are realized in project performance and margins.
  • Provide management team information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing engineering data and trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent with military and/or business experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of strong and progressively more responsible leadership experience required.
  • Effective oral and written communication with internal and external customers and engineering groups.
  • Ability to gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make effective decisions.
  • Excellent team building skills with ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership qualities and abilities.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
