Lead Electronic Security Technician
About The Position
Richmond Security, Inc. (RSI) is seeking an experienced Electronic Security Technician to support our transformation into the region's most respected, full-spectrum security integrator. Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience installing and commissioning access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience with one or more platforms such as Lenel, Brivo, Avigilon Alta, Avigilon Unity, Honeywell, Axis, Hanwha, or similar systems a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring practices, installation standards, and electronic security system integration.
- Professional communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers, contractors, and team members.
- Understanding of how physical and electronic security systems work together within a layered security strategy.
- DCJS-compliant or eligible to become compliant.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Experience working in commercial, government, healthcare, education, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Networking fundamentals including IP addressing, switches, and basic network troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, test, troubleshoot, and commission electronic security systems on commercial, government, and institutional projects.
- Work effectively as part of a 2-3 person installation team while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Complete assigned work within budgeted labor hours while adhering to RSI installation standards and project requirements.
- Install and configure access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related low-voltage security systems.
- Identify and communicate project issues, deficiencies, or opportunities for improvement to supervisors and project managers.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer-facing attitude while representing RSI on client sites.
- Follow all company policies, safety requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Participate in training programs, manufacturer certifications, and continuous professional development initiatives.
