About the position

The Lead Electrical Designer at M.C. Dean is responsible for the design and coordination of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities. This role involves reviewing electrical drawings, creating 3D models, and ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The designer will work closely with project leads to resolve design conflicts and produce detailed installation drawings, contributing to the overall success of complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Create 3D models of pathway and circuiting layout based on electrical design.
• Adjust equipment layouts according to engineering design and project lead direction.
• Participate in design coordination processes and resolve coordination conflicts.
• Produce coordination/shop drawings and installation details.
• Create sketches to support field installation tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 12+ years of experience in electrical design.
• Strong design experience with Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and MS Office.
• Field experience with electrical installations is strongly desired.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and related concepts.
• Knowledge of field installation best practices.

• Completed electrical apprenticeship and journeyman or master electrician status.
