About the position
The Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) plays a crucial role in supporting the Site Supervisor in maintaining program operations while providing direct care to consumers. This leadership position involves mentoring other Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and ensuring that quality services are delivered in accordance with industry regulations. The LDSP is responsible for developing strategies to enhance consumers' independent living skills and maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
Responsibilities
- Support the Site Supervisor in maintaining program operations according to regulations.
- Provide direct care to consumers as needed.
- Mentor and train Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on effective service implementation.
- Develop and maintain organizational systems based on individual support needs.
- Collaborate with management for daily program operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Basic computer and internet literacy.
- Two years of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or Mental Health issues.
- Understanding of trauma and trauma-informed care.
- Valid driver's license.
- Subject to employment clearances, including FBI clearance if applicable.
