About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Credit Risk Officer. The successful candidate will report to the head of CIB Credit Portfolio Oversight and will work closely with the other CIB and Wholesale Credit Risk teams and front-line partners. In this role, you will monitor, assess and report on asset quality, portfolio trends and industry trends. You will act as a liaison between the lines of business and credit risk teams, translating strategic goals into solutions and providing credible review and challenge. You will partner with independent risk management and CIB functions to drive CIB credit portfolio risk ad hoc projects, prepare analyses of risks across the portfolio including emerging risks that could potentially impact the CIB businesses, and develop portfolio risk mitigation strategies in partnership with group leaders and the lines of business within CIB. Additionally, you will determine appropriate strategy and actions of Credit Risk team to meet high priority deliverables, provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions, and build relationships with corporate, business heads, Legal, Audit, regulators and industry partners on risk related topics.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and effectively build relationships within a matrixed environment to influence outcomes within Corporate & Investment Banking
  • Proven ability to monitor risk exposures at the group, line of business and product levels
  • Ability to identify and monitor current and emerging risks and take appropriate action when business activities exceed established risk appetite levels
  • Experience with industry or market research and surveillance
  • Understanding of direct credit lending products and valuations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in designing and executing robust processes and controls
  • Ability to influence and consult strategically across a large organization and with various levels of leadership/stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
