The Lead Caregiver position at Home Helpers of Kirkland involves providing essential support and care to older adults in the Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Mercer Island, and surrounding areas. The position is hybrid, requiring both in-office work and travel to clients' homes, which allows for a dynamic work environment. In addition to direct care responsibilities, the Lead Caregiver will assist with various administrative tasks as determined by the supervisor. This may include record-keeping, documentation, and other duties that contribute to the smooth operation of the caregiving team. Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care services and observations to clients.
  • Support and assist with training caregivers in the field.
  • Orient caregivers to new and existing clients and validate their care practices.
  • Clarify and update the client's plan of care as needed.
  • Provide shift coverage due to call outs or no shows.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, record keeping, and documentation.
  • Foster a high-performing culture of excellence that drives employee engagement and provides exceptional patient care.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Care Aide Certification required.
  • Nurse Delegation certificate preferred.
  • Fundamentals of Caregiving or Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving required.
  • Caregiver Mental Health and Dementia training preferred.
  • Maintains required 12 hours of CE needed for CNA or HCA certificate annually.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Home Health, Skilled Nursing Facility, or other long-term care settings.
  • Knowledge or skill in working with older adults and adults with memory impairment.
  • Valid Driver's license, Reliable Transportation, Auto Insurance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Nursing is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
