About the position

The Lead Cardiac Sonographer at Maryview Medical Center is responsible for supervising the cardiac sonography department, performing diagnostic cardiac exams, and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role involves overseeing the scheduling and coordination of sonographers, conducting performance reviews, and maintaining accurate timekeeping records. The Lead Sonographer will also perform essential cardiac ultrasound procedures and demonstrate expertise in cardiac anatomy and exam interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the cardiac sonography department and coordinate the scheduling of sonographers.
• Conduct interviews, terminations, and job performance reviews for associates.
• Input and manage associates' time and attendance data in the timekeeping system.
• Perform all essential job functions of a Registered Cardiac Sonographer.
• Proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Be available for on-call hours as required.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography, or related study (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required).
• Credentialed in echocardiography as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
• One year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (required).
• Two years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred).
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred).
• Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred).
