About the position
The Lead Behavioral Health Technician at Silver Ridge is responsible for providing support and care to clients in a substance abuse setting. This role involves assisting with the intake process, maintaining client logs, managing medication, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. The technician will also coordinate activities, transport clients, and train new staff, all while demonstrating professionalism and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with intake process with new clients into program.
- Communicate with staff either verbally or in written communication logs.
- Responsible for detailed client logs.
- Medication Management.
- Listen to clients concerning all areas of treatment.
- Maintain a safe, orderly and therapeutic physical environment for clients including crisis intervention.
- Coordinate activities including lectures, recreation and meetings.
- Follow objectives of treatment plans.
- Helps clients obtain a sponsor.
- Attend shift change and company meetings.
- Attend training as necessary.
- Transport clients.
- Monitor treatment for necessary hygiene and medical needs.
- Help with upkeep of facility.
- Train new staff on unit, program and milieu.
- Evaluate behavioral and emotional needs of clients and provides input.
- Assist with interventions with clients.
- Responsible for conducting searches of clients when they return back to the facility.
- Prepare client snacks.
- Clerical duties as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a BHT in a substance abuse setting.
- Drug and Alcohol/Mental Health experience preferred.
