The Lead Assistant - Expanded Function Dental Assistant position at Island Paradise Dental involves providing chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring patient safety, and managing patient records. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of dental care and supporting the dental team in a private practice setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform chairside assisting duties during dental procedures
- Utilize medical terminology and maintain knowledge of dental assisting techniques
- Follow aseptic technique protocols to ensure patient safety
- Apply anatomy knowledge to assist the dentist during procedures
- Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of diseases
- Utilize EMR systems and Eaglesoft for patient records management
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Familiarity with Dentrix software for dental practice management
- Assist with X-Rays and dental receptionist duties as needed
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures
- Conduct patient assessments and document medical information accurately
- Maintain medical records and ensure proper medical coding practices
- Knowledge of CAD software for dental applications
- Experience working with pediatric patients and providing specialized care
Requirements
- Valid CPR Certification
- Experience in Pediatrics
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques
- Familiarity with EMR systems and Eaglesoft
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties
- Knowledge of infection control measures
- Experience with medical records management
- Familiarity with Dentrix software
