WEG is seeking a Laser Equipment Operator for its 2nd shift operations. This role involves operating laser cutting machinery, setting up and programming the equipment, and ensuring the quality and quantity of parts produced. The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating machinery, the ability to work overtime, and possess basic math and blueprint reading skills. Requirements

  • Prior experience operating machinery.
  • Able to work over-time as needed.
  • Occasionally lifting objects weighing over 60 pounds, moving steel, pallets, etc.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend common vocabulary.
  • Must be able to calculate basic math, including fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, plans, layouts and/or templates.
  • Safety Sensitive Position: drug screen includes THC.
  • Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington MO.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is not available for these positions.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of prior manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Able to read understand and interpret BOM, drawings, cutting schedule to complete laser operations without supervision.
  • Locate and set-up steel in storage tower using fork trucks, and automated system.
  • Inspection of steel blanks for size/thickness, damage, and burrs ensuring steel meets specifications.
  • Operate machine using automation with complex menu choices to move steel blanks into and out of the laser cutting portion of machine.
  • Set-up and program laser machine by interpreting schedule and following approved procedures. Programming may require use of complex menu and programming choices.
  • Operate laser and monitor quality and quantities per manufacturing procedures.
  • Set up laser to ensure beam is focused correctly and proper cut quality is maintained.
  • Monitor compressed gas levels and change to new bottle as necessary.
  • Ensure proper sequence and running of laser.
  • Inspect parts at completion of process and maintain quality records as necessary.
  • Move finished parts off of machine.
  • Any related tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor.
