About the position
We are looking for an intern to work in our Parks and Greenways Department at our Indianapolis office. This position is intended to be a summer internship position, with potential for growth as you gain knowledge through professional experience and individualized training. While supporting the needs of individual projects, this position will collaborate with our team of experienced landscape architects and Civil Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Projects may include land planning, parks, streetscapes, paved trails, and other types of public infrastructure and community design.
- Assist project managers in graphic and technical production including but not limited to: conceptual planning, layout planning, construction details, planting plans, and presentation graphics.
- Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations for design procedures and practices.
- Develop skills involving one or more software programs: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Sketchup, GIS, PowerPoint, Word and/or Excel.
Requirements
- In the process of receiving a Landscape Architecture degree from an accredited university.
- Some proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office software products.
- Exhibits professional level of communication, spoken and written.
