About the position

The Land Acquisition Analyst will support the Land Team in sourcing and contracting land for residential subdivisions and acquiring finished lots. This role involves researching and analyzing properties, understanding site characteristics, conducting feasibility studies, and tracking land sales data to inform acquisition strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate site characteristics including zoning, land use compatibility, wetlands, topography, school districts, and proximity to services.
  • Identify land leads through various methods including contacting brokers, reviewing development websites, and studying GIS.
  • Monitor Unified Development Ordinances (UDO/LDO) and infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain a database of land sales data and relevant information for the land acquisition team.
  • Assist with contract preparation documents and tracking contract milestone dates.
  • Complete project startup documents for new deals at contract execution.
  • Attend meetings with sellers, brokers, and developers alongside the Land Acquisition Manager.
  • Learn negotiation and contracting processes for land and lots.
  • Assist the Market Analyst in identifying competitors for new deals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • One year of related experience and/or training.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition, land development, real estate, and/or GIS research; or completion of coursework in a relatable degree program.
  • Efficient multitasking and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions in written or oral form.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email.
