Laborer (Driving)

About the position

This position involves a variety of manual tasks including loading, unloading, moving, and stacking materials such as heavy boxes and bulky items. The incumbent will operate hand tools and simple power equipment to perform tasks such as mowing lawns, clearing small trees and bushes, and removing snow. Additional responsibilities include moving and arranging furniture, collecting and emptying garbage, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, moves, and stacks material such as heavy boxes and bulky items by hand, hand-trucks, or dollies.
• Operates hand tools and simple power equipment such as hand lawnmowers, walking-type power mowers, hand-saws, hatchets, and clippers.
• Performs a variety of manual tasks such as moving, arranging, collecting, and cleaning equipment and materials.
• May collect and empty garbage cans, burn garbage and trash, and wash and wax cars and trucks by hand or using a powered buffer.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Physical lifting requirement necessitating a favorable pre-employment physical within 60 days of hire.
• Shift work required to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test with negative results and is subject to random testing for drug use.
• Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License to operate vehicles.
• U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
