About the position

The Laboratory Technician Senior at Estrella Mountain Community College plays a crucial role in supporting the Art Studios by maintaining equipment, overseeing supply inventory, and ensuring optimal learning experiences for students. This position involves collaboration with faculty and staff to facilitate classroom activities, manage studio operations, and provide administrative support for the art program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with program faculty and staff in the set-up, delivery, and clean-up of classroom learning activities.
• Provides organization and oversight for the studio art and digital art labs, including maintaining and inventorying supplies and equipment.
• Provides administrative support for the art program, assisting with planning and implementation of divisional events and services.
• Supervises and monitors students during open studio time and ensures safety protocols are followed.
• Performs other duties commensurate to grade level of position.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience in an instructional setting or related laboratory activities.
• High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of full-time equivalent experience in an instructional setting or related laboratory activities.

Nice-to-haves

• Associates, Bachelors, or Master's degree in a studio art discipline.
• Educational or work experience in studio art disciplines, supplies, equipment, and safety protocols.
• One (1) year of direct support experience in studio art disciplines offered at EMCC.
• Experience using multiple computer software programs such as Google tools, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Experience in maintaining records and tracking and organizing data using physical and electronic filing systems.
• Experience working independently and with initiative to complete tasks and problem-solve.
