About the position
The Laboratory Manager at HCA Florida JFK Hospital is responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and leading a team to deliver high-quality laboratory services. This role involves monitoring departmental performance, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and fostering a patient-centered environment. The Laboratory Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and monitor employees, departmental performance, and staff development to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop monitoring systems for the collection, documentation, and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data.
- Extract pertinent information from quality assessment and improvement studies, initiate corrective action plans, and re-monitor results.
- Evaluate existing systems and processes and develop corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified.
- Initiate changes and monitor for improvement in laboratory services.
- Ensure departments proactively respond to feedback from customers and implement improvement mechanisms.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- 3+ years' experience at a supervisory level in a clinical laboratory setting.
- A Florida Supervisor's license or the ability to obtain it during the interview process.
- Minimum 3 licensures in specialty areas such as Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry, Hematology, Histology, Microbiology, and Serology/Immunology.
