The Laboratory Coordinator - Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor position at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte involves overseeing the general chemistry laboratories and other undergraduate labs. Responsibilities
- Coordinate the general chemistry laboratories and other undergraduate laboratories as needed.
- Develop lab schedules and syllabi for the courses.
- Coordinate with the stockroom to ensure labs are properly stocked.
- Train and supervise teaching assistants and adjunct faculty for introductory lab courses.
- Ensure alignment between lectures and labs in collaboration with faculty.
- Implement updates to laboratory exercises as needed.
- Teach introductory chemistry lectures and/or upper-level courses as required.
- Support departmental curriculum and pedagogy development.
- Serve on department and university committees.
Requirements
- Master's or doctoral degree in chemistry or a related area.
- One semester of teaching experience at the college level.
Nice-to-haves
- Doctoral degree in chemistry or a related area.
- At least one year of experience teaching introductory chemistry courses.
- Experience in laboratory coordination.
- Experience with evidence-based scientific teaching and learning practices.
