The Laboratory Coordinator - Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor position at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte involves overseeing the general chemistry laboratories and other undergraduate labs. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the general chemistry laboratories and other undergraduate laboratories as needed.
  • Develop lab schedules and syllabi for the courses.
  • Coordinate with the stockroom to ensure labs are properly stocked.
  • Train and supervise teaching assistants and adjunct faculty for introductory lab courses.
  • Ensure alignment between lectures and labs in collaboration with faculty.
  • Implement updates to laboratory exercises as needed.
  • Teach introductory chemistry lectures and/or upper-level courses as required.
  • Support departmental curriculum and pedagogy development.
  • Serve on department and university committees.

Requirements

  • Master's or doctoral degree in chemistry or a related area.
  • One semester of teaching experience at the college level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Doctoral degree in chemistry or a related area.
  • At least one year of experience teaching introductory chemistry courses.
  • Experience in laboratory coordination.
  • Experience with evidence-based scientific teaching and learning practices.
