About the position

The position involves drawing blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research. The individual may explain the procedure to patients and assist in the recovery of patients who experience adverse reactions.

Responsibilities

  • Draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research.
  • Explain the blood draw procedure to patients.
  • Assist in the recovery of patients with adverse reactions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Phlebotomy training program, medical assistant program, or an internship/training program that included venipuncture, skin puncture, patient preparation and post collection transportation/processing.
  • Currently/actively enrolled in an RN or LPN program.
  • Six (6) months of Phlebotomy experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • One (1) year of patient care experience working in the healthcare field.
