About The Position

The California School Employees Association (CSEA) is seeking a Labor Relations Representative to represent its members in the Redding, CA geographical area. This is a full-time, home-office position reporting to the Field Director. The role requires frequent nights and weekend hours, as well as some travel. CSEA, established in 1927, represents over 250,000 school employees across California and is dedicated to improving the lives of classified school employees by securing benefits, pensions, protections, and funding. The mission of CSEA is to champion the rights, dignity, and welfare of working people, with values including advocating for affordable healthcare and security for working families. Responsibilities

  • Recruits and trains members
  • Negotiates contracts
  • Provides leadership to rank-and-file negotiators and committees in collective bargaining
  • Represents members in hearings
  • Identifies and develops member leaders, chapter officers and stewards
  • Influences members and staff
  • Develops members who are committed as advocates for the union
  • Organizes and mobilizes members for political action
  • Assists with representational matters
