About the position
The Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) plays a crucial role in the provider care team by supporting laboratory functions such as reports, data management, and scheduling. This position emphasizes the importance of customer service and requires the technician to acquire specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to safety and confidentiality standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely laboratory support mechanisms.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills in all interactions.
- Skillfully acquire required types of specimens for laboratory testing.
- Observe HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies.
- Perform duties in alignment with Mercy's mission and service standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months of phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience or successful completion of a clinical training program.
- Satisfactorily complete specific facility competencies for advancement.
