Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, EKG, and point of care waived testing.
• Enter and retrieve patient information, demographics, and test results.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
• Assist with patient treatments and procedures.
• Explain specimen collection procedures to patients.
• Maintain required department logs and quality control logs.
• Assist in department orientation and training of new staff.
• Monitor and maintain adequate clinical and office supplies and equipment.
• Utilize Epic to manage specimens and patient information.
• Clean and disinfect work areas and equipment according to guidelines.

Requirements

• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Bi-Annual CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory techniques.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Computer experience required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with EKGs and stress EKGs.
• Familiarity with Epic software.
