The Lab Assistant II performs a vital part of the patient care process by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and transported between the laboratory and healthcare provider locations. This is a hybrid lab assistant role that includes courier duties, preparing supply orders, and ensuring safe operation of a motor vehicle in all weather conditions. The position requires working in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and adherence to PPE requirements, championing safety, compliance, and quality control.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license and an excellent driving record for the past three years
  • Confidence operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions and navigating routine hazards of the road
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
  • Physical capability of light to medium lifting (up to 50 lbs).

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production
