About The Position

This is a part-time, one-year term position. The hours and days of work are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 PM to 1 AM, and Saturdays from 12:30 PM to 6 PM. The salary is $20.04 per hour. Job Purpose The incumbent is responsible for the identification, verification, processing, and preparation of all departments. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous laboratory experience is desirable.
  • Laboratory skills, with experience in setting up, performing, and reading certain tests, as well as using laboratory instruments.
  • Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology and microbiology procedures and equipment.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Autonomy and team spirit.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in French, essential for participating in team meetings, accurately entering data into internal systems, and understanding written instructions.
  • Positive and pragmatic attitude.
  • Strong computer skills, including good typing speed and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • English language proficiency allowing participation in team meetings, accurate data entry into company systems, and understanding of written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous laboratory experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve minimum productivity goals.
  • Perform all required quality checks, such as recording temperatures, recording the date of opening of all reagents and supplies, and initialing them.
  • Organize, repair, and seed various laboratory tests.
  • Participate in the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of these.
  • Report any technical/quality control issues to their supervisor.
  • Comply with applicable procedures (PRO, SOP, FR, etc.), including safety and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. Restock supplies as needed.
  • Participate in improving efficiency, quality, and cooperation within the laboratory.
  • Consult with experienced peers for non-complex tasks to learn through experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Research missing samples, check pending lists/tracking screen, print worksheets, and place them in labeled folders.
  • Store all samples in accordance with current procedures.
