About the position

The Kubernetes Platform Engineer at International will play a crucial role in managing and automating the Kubernetes environment that hosts applications for the commercial vehicle industry. This position involves ensuring the health and operation of Kubernetes clusters, collaborating with development teams, and contributing to the CI/CD processes to support application deployment. The role is hybrid, based at the Lisle, Illinois Corporate Headquarters, and is part of a broader mission to redefine transportation through digital transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes clusters on Azure.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of .NET applications into Kubernetes.
  • Follow industry best practices and enterprise policies to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of the Kubernetes environment.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and enterprise security practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes infrastructure and application deployment.
  • Aid in the development of CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of software engineer experience, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of software engineer experience, or at least 7 years of software engineer experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Kubernetes Engineer or similar role using Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of .NET applications, including ASP.NET, specifically around the development and deployment process.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure as code (IaC), preferably using Terraform.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.
