About the position

The Kitchen Utility position at our senior living retirement community involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and food service areas. This role is essential for ensuring a welcoming environment for residents and supporting the overall food service operations.

Responsibilities

  • Wash and sanitize all dishes, pots and pans, food carts, and food preparation equipment.
  • Empty kitchen garbage/trash and sanitize containers as needed.
  • Check-in, unpack, and store dry goods, cleaning supplies, and cold stock.
  • Oversee and maintain food storage areas; assist in cleaning of food service areas and heavy equipment when necessary.
  • Pull frozen meats to be used on following days and return unused items to freezer.
  • Keep temperature checks current throughout the kitchen.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all walls in kitchen and serving areas.
  • Assist with buffet set up and special functions.
  • Demonstrate positive resident relations and facility's quality care and service standards to residents, families, and guests.
  • Maintain a positive, cheerful attitude at all times.
  • Follow sanitation guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of related work experience preferred.
