About the Role: The Packaging Lead will work closely with all leads and managers to ensure packaging efficiency and priorities within the packaging team, utilize/troubleshoot all packaging equipment and standard processes, and help to guide new packaging employees. Packaging Lead will also be responsible for all packaging and equipment. This role will be on site at our Hauppauge facility and hours will be Monday-Friday day shift.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations and Logistics Managers in daily operations
  • Evaluate and ensure efficiency, completeness, and consistency of all packaging lines
  • Communicate expectations and assign tasks to the packaging team
  • Train the support team on operational procedures to ensure constancy across our product lines
  • Ensure machines are functioning properly and prioritize maintenance in alignment with the Operations Manager
  • Inspect finished products visually and manually to guarantee accuracy and quality as well as auditing completed batches before transferring to fulfillment
  • Lead the team on new projects and manage the daily packaging schedule
  • Perform support staff duties as needed
  • Delegate tasks to support staff, including material organization, waste disposal, and cleaning packaging areas
  • Create and print compliant and accurate batch labels to ensure we remain compliant
  • Utilize our seed-to-sale system, METRC, effectively and to government standards
  • Receive and manage transfers from the production team
  • Understand procedures for safely opening and closing the facility
