About the position

The Kitchen Equipment Technician is responsible for overseeing the operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of culinary equipment and systems at the Meta Campus in Bellevue, WA. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering design and operational aspects of building systems, ensuring that kitchen and cafe equipment functions efficiently and safely. The technician will troubleshoot issues, coordinate repairs, and maintain compliance with health and safety standards while providing excellent communication with culinary staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of culinary equipment and systems.
• Determine frequency of repair and preventative maintenance of systems.
• Understand engineering design and operational aspects of building systems as they relate to kitchens/cafes.
• Monitor operation and maintain systems related to kitchens, including water cooling/heating equipment and pumps.
• Review and ensure proper logs and operation of equipment; report problems as needed.
• Check malfunctioning equipment and ascertain corrective actions required.
• Communicate with work order requestors and culinary staff.
• Coordinate with client representatives to understand their needs and schedule work accordingly.
• Prioritize and schedule all preventative maintenance and emergency work orders.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Comply with health departmental policies regarding equipment maintenance and hazardous waste disposal.
• Complete all required training and comply with established training standards.
• Perform any other tasks and duties assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years of facility maintenance experience; kitchen equipment repair experience highly preferred.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Completed trades schooling, technical, or vocational schooling.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well in oral and written reports.
• Ability to frequently lift 40 lbs.
• Ability to safely bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, and turn frequently.
