About the position

Shawano County is seeking a dedicated individual to prepare nutritious meals for inmates as mandated by law. The position involves maintaining a sanitary environment with the assistance of inmate workers under the supervision of the Cook. The role is essential in ensuring that all food prepared meets the dietary needs of the inmates while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food for inmates and staff, including trays for inmate populations based on floor counts.
• Maintains a sanitary kitchen environment with the help of inmate workers under the Cook's supervision.
• Rotates stock and places food orders in the correct storage areas.
• Instructs inmates in proper sanitation of dishes and equipment.
• Verifies special meals for special diets and prepares them accordingly.
• Informs the Food Service Manager of any problems involved with kitchen operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in quantity food production is required.
• Valid driver's license and adequate insurance as required by County Policy.
• Ability to pass a background check.
