About the position

The Kitchen Associate position at Heinen's involves preparing a variety of foods and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This role is essential in maintaining the kitchen's operational efficiency and providing excellent customer service. Associates are expected to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to company policies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize daily work based on varying business needs.
• Prepare a variety of foods, such as sandwiches, wraps, trays, according to customers' orders following approved procedures.
• Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and meats, to prepare for cooking or serving.
• Follow Heinen's panning, packaging, and merchandising standards.
• Acquire and share knowledge of Kitchen Department.
• Monitor and maintain all food handling and temperature standards.
• Responsible for writing orders using effective pars and planning.
• Work as a team to complete daily tasks, including scanning and recording shrink, order writing, stocking, rotating, and merchandising.
• Attend required corporate meetings, vendor calls, and training classes.
• Comply with all personal and food safety company standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comply with all company policies and standards.
• Possess a sense of urgency and the ability to work independently to achieve daily tasks.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Production driven with the ability to work continuously on repetitive tasks, while standing.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 degrees.
• Willingness to work the amount of hours required to meet company objectives, including non-traditional hours.
