About the position
The Kindergarten teacher is responsible for delivering age-appropriate instruction while fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Nebraska State Standards.
- Teach foundational subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies.
- Foster social-emotional development and encourage positive behavior.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Use various research based instructional practices to meet the needs of various learners.
- Assess student progress through observation, assessments, and communication with parents.
- Implement diagnostic and/or progress monitoring assessments as determined by the district curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior.
- Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and district policies.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and assessment data.
- Prepare reports and communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student performance and behavior.
- Participate in school-wide meetings, events, and other administrative activities as required.
