About the position

The Restaurant General Manager at TravelCenters of America is responsible for leading the operations and marketing functions of a quick service restaurant. This role focuses on staffing, training, and development, ensuring high-quality customer service, and improving profitability. The General Manager plays a crucial role in creating a positive work environment and achieving financial objectives while adhering to safety standards and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operations and marketing functions of the quick service restaurant.
  • Inspire the team to meet and exceed company performance standards.
  • Develop a trusting atmosphere conducive to receiving feedback from team members and guests.
  • Serve customers courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a positive attitude.
  • Provide quality food and maintain a clean restaurant environment.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain high-quality team members.
  • Achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service, and facility processes.
  • Oversee payroll, accounting, inventory, and personnel documentation procedures.
  • Adhere to safety standards and company guidelines on vendor relationships.
  • Stay informed about competitive practices and provide insights to leadership.
  • Assume duties of any hourly associate position as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED) required; Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in the fast-food industry preferred.
  • Proficient planning and analytical skills, including understanding P&L calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational understanding of POS software.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
