About the position

As a Key Account Manager at Datwyler, you will serve as the primary commercial contact for both existing and potential customers, particularly within the Mobility sector, which includes Tier I suppliers and OEMs. This role is pivotal in ensuring customer intimacy and fostering strong relationships that facilitate early participation in key projects, even before the Request for Quotation (RFQ) phase. Your responsibilities will encompass a blend of strategic and operational tasks, including providing commercial support to customers, leading contract negotiations, and communicating customer requirements internally to ensure alignment across teams. You will be expected to maintain a regular presence with customers as part of the product segment strategy, ensuring that their needs are met and that Datwyler's offerings are effectively positioned. This includes budgeting and monitoring assigned products, developing customer-related strategies, and assisting in the overarching Mobility Business Unit strategy. Additionally, you will conduct market analyses to identify trends and competitive developments, reporting essential commercial and technical information back to the organization. In terms of acquisition, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, not only with existing customers but also with new clients as part of the Mobility Business Unit's marketing mix. Your role will involve coordinating technical contract reviews and managing day-to-day interactions with assigned customers in the Americas, ensuring that projects are realized and roadblocks are managed effectively. The RFQ process will also fall under your purview, where you will provide necessary data for offers, clarify technical requirements, and prepare RFQs in collaboration with project teams. Your ability to communicate effectively at all levels, coupled with your analytical and technical skills, will be crucial in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for existing and potential customers in the Mobility sector.
  • Provide commercial support for existing and potential new customers.
  • Lead the review and negotiation of customer-related contracts.
  • Communicate customer technical and commercial requirements internally and monitor corresponding actions.
  • Budget and monitor assigned products.
  • Develop customer-related strategies for the assigned customer portfolio.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the overarching Mobility Business Unit strategy.
  • Conduct market analyses to identify trends and observe competitive developments.
  • Report essential commercial or technical information and innovations from the market to the organization.
  • Acquire new business opportunities, including new customers as part of the Mobility BU marketing mix.
  • Perform commercial order reviews and coordinate technical contract reviews.
  • Develop and foster customer relationships to exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage day-to-day customer interactions for assigned customers in the Americas.
  • Develop and implement customer visit schedules to enhance customer intimacy.
  • Provide data for the RFQ process, clarify technical customer requirements, and prepare RFQs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in commercial or technical studies.
  • 5+ years of experience in the mobility market.
  • Knowledge of the production and application of elastomer components is preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer-oriented personality with a high affinity for the Mobility industry.
  • Good analytical, technical, and financial skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and as a team player.
  • Self-directed and motivated, comfortable working in both home office and office environments.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Expert English proficiency (verbal and written); Spanish proficiency is a plus.
