The position involves constructing, installing, erecting, and repairing fixtures and structures made from various materials, including wood and steel. The role emphasizes safety and quality control, requiring the use of tools and equipment to complete tasks effectively. Responsibilities

  • Constructs, installs, erects, and repairs fixtures and structures made from wood, steel, and other materials.
  • Performs concrete forming, metal framing, drywall, and door and casework installation.
  • Ensures safety is prioritized to prevent accidents and create a safe working environment.
  • Works with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Adheres to safety and quality control requirements.
  • Utilizes chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
  • Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
  • Works off of stilts, ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
  • Uses fall protection devices and harnesses as required.
  • Checks work to ensure it meets code and specifications.
  • Works at varying heights, often greater than 10' above ground.
  • Uses levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
  • Works with prefabricated buildings.
  • Installs cabinets and trim.
  • Creates structures for pouring concrete.
  • Erects scaffolding.
  • Installs partitions, doors, and windows.
  • Moves and installs machinery.
  • Demonstrates dedication to clients through quality services and building long-term relationships.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in construction work.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Basic math skills used daily.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
  • Ability to work independently and meet attendance schedules with dependability.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse conditions.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing, and understand, follow, and transmit instructions.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
