About the position
As the Landscape Supply and Concrete Dealer Yard Manager in Kalamazoo, MI, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operations of the landscape supply yard, focusing on concrete and stone products. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating with vendors, ensuring quality control, and providing excellent customer service. A strong understanding of landscaping materials and concrete products, along with excellent organizational and leadership skills, is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment.
- Develop a weekly schedule for self, tasks, and teams.
- Operate a wheel loader as needed.
- Develop creative solutions to fix daily operation problems.
- Oversee the inventory of landscape and concrete products, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Monitor stock movement and prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures for concrete products and landscaping materials.
- Lead and motivate yard staff by fostering a positive work environment.
- Calculate and enforce max shipment weights and ensure safe loading procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape supply and concrete product management.
- Strong knowledge of landscaping materials and concrete products.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Leadership experience in a similar setting.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the landscape and concrete industry.
