About the position

The Outlet Chef at Margaritaville Beach Resort is a leadership role responsible for enhancing the culinary experience at the JWB Fine Dining Restaurant. This position requires a culinary enthusiast who can lead and develop a team, innovate menu offerings, manage financial operations, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. The Outlet Chef will work closely with the Culinary Director to create seasonal menus and maintain high standards of food quality and service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, develop, and inspire the culinary team to achieve excellence in food quality and service.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to culinary staff to support their professional growth.
  • Elevate the culinary experience by developing innovative and trend-forward menu items and specials.
  • Expand menu variety while maintaining consistency and upholding brand standards.
  • Collaborate with Culinary Director and culinary team to create seasonal menus and special event offerings.
  • Manage financial cost controls and culinary operations to achieve budgetary goals.
  • Monitor food costs, inventory levels, and labor expenses to maximize profitability.
  • Implement strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize waste in kitchen operations.
  • Create memorable dining experiences by focusing on food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience through menu offerings and service improvements.
  • Address guest feedback and concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Develop edgy and innovative menu items that reflect current food trends and align with guest preferences.
  • Continuously explore new ingredients, techniques, and flavors to keep menus fresh and exciting.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as an upper-level Chef.
  • Excel in a high-energy, engaging, team-based environment with effective leadership, communication, and training skills.
  • Experience in building strong kitchen teams and creating a positive kitchen culture.
  • Adaptable to change - can solve problems through an open-minded and all-inclusive approach.
  • Knowledge of special diets/allergies (preferred).
  • Experience in creating and delivering quality a la carte and banquet/event menus and dishes.
