About The Position

As a Juvenile Detention Officer - Entry Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A minimum of 6 plus months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and authorized personnel by following site-specific security-related procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points at a government location, verify credentials and/or identification, and assist with visitor processing, escort procedures, and restricted area access.
• Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document relevant activity in logs and/or reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observe for unusual activity or access-related concerns, and report conditions that could help to deter unauthorized entry.
