About the position

The Design Engineer position at Actalent involves collaborating with customers to identify their needs for distribution design improvements and utilizing proprietary design software to create the necessary designs. Responsibilities

• Interact with customers to understand their distribution design improvement needs.
• Design the required work using proprietary design software.
• Submit design requests in internal systems and oversee the completion of work in the field.
• Spend approximately 40% of time meeting with customers and 60% executing designs in the office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (ME, EE, CE) or engineering technology (MET, EET, CET) from an ABET accredited program.
• Electrical knowledge, including understanding of transformers, electrical distribution of power, and conductors.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Professional presentation skills.
• Desire to work for a large utility company.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous distribution design experience is a plus.
