About The Position
Barriston Law is seeking a Junior Construction Litigation Lawyer (Associate) to join their construction team within the Civil Litigation Department. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong work ethic, capable of managing file flow and meeting strict deadlines in construction law matters. Requirements
- Good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- 2-3 years of litigation and/or construction litigation experience
- Experience with drafting contracts and/or procurement documents
- Demonstrated track record of providing excellent client service
- Strong drafting, research, advocacy, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Preparing litigation documents
- Reviewing, preparing and assisting with negotiation of construction contracts
- Researching and analyzing case law to support legal advice
- Attending examinations for discovery, court appearances, arbitrations, adjudications, and mediations
- Assisting with or maintaining carriage of various construction disputes, including, but not limited to, contract preparation and negotiation, lien claims, breach of trust claims, deficiency claims, and procurement matters.
