Junior Commercial Estimator / Estimator Assistant
About The Position
Cherry Glass & Aluminum (CGA) is a multi-generational local business with deep roots in Eastern Idaho. Established in 1968 and locally owned since 1978, CGA specializes in commercial and residential glass and aluminum solutions throughout Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming. We are currently looking to hire a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial Estimator / Estimator Assistant to support our commercial estimating department. This is an in-house position based in Idaho Falls, Idaho - not a remote role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys construction-related office work, problem solving, reading plans, organizing information, and learning the commercial bidding and project process. Experience with Bluebeam is helpful, but we are willing to train the right individual with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to learn construction drawings and specifications
- Computer proficiency and willingness to learn industry software
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Nice To Haves
- Bluebeam experience is preferred but not required
- Construction industry experience is helpful but not required
Responsibilities
- Assist the commercial estimator with project takeoffs and bid preparation
- Review construction drawings and specifications
- Use Bluebeam and other software tools to measure and organize project information
- Help gather pricing from vendors and suppliers
- Organize bid documents, plans, and project files
- Assist with project tracking and bid follow-up
- Communicate professionally with vendors, contractors, and internal team members
- Support estimating and project management operations as needed
